ISO 5659 NBS Plastic Smoke Density Chamber Product Introduction:

 

The test method of the NBS smoke density test box originated from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, formerly NBS) and is now widely used in multiple testing fields. This test method is suitable for evaluating the smoke density level of plastic products, non-metallic materials for rail transit, non-metallic materials for ships, and wire and cable products. Common applicable standards include ASTM E662, ISO 5659-2, and the NES 711 smoke density test method in the military national standard. Compared with the traditional building material smoke density test method, this standard provides more accurate test results. Its optical sensor uses a highly sensitive photomultiplier tube, which can accurately capture subtle changes in the smoke in the box. In addition, by selecting other test equipment, such as the Dräger gas detection tube, smoke toxicity tests that meet aviation standards can be performed; if combined with the FTIR Fourier transform infrared device, it can also achieve qualitative and quantitative analysis of smoke components, further expanding its application range.

Box structure:

 

1. The test box consists of a box, a sample box, a radiation cone, an igniter, a light transmission and measurement device, and other related control devices
2. Ergonomic structural design and control design; the box adopts a full-door design; the door lock design facilitates one-time closing of the door; optimizes the operation process
3. The test box door can be fully opened, which is convenient for loading and unloading samples and cleaning the box
4. The front door is hinged and equipped with a window and a movable opaque shading plate that can block the window to prevent light from entering the sealed box
5. The controller is located on the side of the box for easy operation. The controller can be viewed even when the door is closed
