Introduction:
The tracking index tester is a special testing instrument developed, designed and manufactured in strict accordance with GB 4207, IEC 60112, JIS C 2134 and other standards. Tracking test is a test method used to evaluate the insulation performance of electrical equipment, IEC 60112. This test is used to detect whether the insulation materials of electrical and electronic products are prone to leakage and arcing (i.e. tracking) in humid environmental conditions.
Test principle:
It is used to evaluate the tolerance of the surface of solid insulating materials under the combined action of electric field and contaminated medium, and to determine its comparative tracking index (CTI) and proof tracking index (PTI);
Comparative Tracking Index (CTI): The highest voltage value that the surface of the insulating material can withstand 50 drops of electrolysis (0.1% ammonium chloride aqueous solution) without forming a leakage trace, in V.
Proof Tracking Index (PTI): The voltage required for the material surface to form a permanent conductive carbon path after withstanding the action of 50 drops of electrolyte at a rate of one drop per 30 seconds, expressed in V.
Sample requirements
1. Plates and sheets with a diameter of 30 mm or more, or length and width greater than 30 mm; thickness > 3 mm, samples can be stacked, and the surface is flat;
2. Testable voltage: up to 600 V.
